Fumito Ueda: I play games where violence is a factor myself. However, through the production of Shadow of the Colossus, I started having doubts about simply “feeling good by beating monsters” and “getting a sense of accomplishment”.
When I first showed my staff the sequence after defeating a colossus, they thought it was a bug and laughed because they were so used to games that would play a fanfare after defeating a monster.

Read this random article about one of my all-time favorite movies, The Castle of Cagliostro, and realized that fan-made commentary tracks for movies are a thing? Or used to be a thing? This feels like an echo from an earlier internet. https://teleread.org/2017/06/17/castle-of-cagliostro-and-copyrights-limits-to-creativity/
I finally picked up that Naruto #manga.
Currently at chapter ~400, and I'm starting to feel like the shinobi way to say "hey you!" is basically to throw a kunai in your general vicinity.

Hi, historian here specializing in anarchist states (oxymoron I know) with special focus on piratical vessels.
So half the problem with pirate history is that as previous folks have said, it's a very biased and propaganda'd history. What history we do have is mostly from the governments that hunted them down. Hence the "murderous, rapists, spawn of the devil!!" etc. When in reality, they were more akin to freedom fighters. The historical fact is that almost 95% of all pirate ships across the board, were escaped slaves.
Avid media consumer, I like to share what I heard, read, watched or played.
